Piecemakers Quilting Group

Piecemakers Quilting Program

The volunteer activity began in 1978 to encourage senior citizens to get out of the house and remain active in the community. It is still going strong today, and has 15 to 20 members who continue to meet weekly at the center. All fees charged by the Piecemakers for quilting are donated to the general fund of NTC.

This volunteer group makes a minimum of two quilts per year and donates them to the Bazaar quilt raffle and the Bazaar's silent auction. With the monies collected from those two fundraisers and the fees charged for quilting, the group donates between $5,000 and $7,500 to the Treatment Center's general fund each year. "That's a lot of stitchin'!"

All quilts are priced and evaluated for quilting by the quilting coordinator. The price for quilting is determined by the amount of quilting requested to be done and the quilt size. To schedule a quilting time and obtain a price, contact Virginia Worsham, quilting coordinator, at (936) 569-7173
