Volunteers

Volunteering is a great way to stay active and feel alive.

At the Nacogdoches Treatment Center there are many ways to help out. Just a few ways to help the center include joining the "Piecemakers," NTC’s very own quilting group, helping assist our program coordinators with the Alzheimer’s/Dementia day activity groups, or even helping our other volunteers make one-of-a-kind creations to sell at our annual Craft Bazaar.

So if you are looking for a worthy organization with which to volunteer your time, please consider joining us at the Nacogdoches Treatment Center.

Volunteer Appreciation Day 2003

Dear Volunteers,

Thank you for your dedication and caring!

The staff, clients, and client families of the Nacogdoches Treatment Center

A Word from Our Volunteers

"We feel like we’re helping people in the community. We can give a little of our time to helping and having a good time. The families of the Alzheimer’s patients are so grateful for a little relief. It’s really a good work."

~ Bernice Strahan, Piecemaker

"I started volunteering about 1994 to help the clients exercise. I knew I could lead them through the exercises and would feel selfish if I didn’t help."

~ Virginia Matthews, volunteer

"I was interested in volunteering because my brother-in-law, Fred Nelson, came here when he developed Alzheimer’s. I got attached to volunteering."

~ Wilbur Lilly, first Alzheimer’s volunteer
